Hi,

I am new to the world of recording and looking for some advice. I have just bought a fender mustang 1 amp for the purpose of recording, it came with Ableton live 8 but after messing around with it for 2 days it seems to still not be recording for me, even after reading/seeing loads of tutorials.

Can anyone tell me of an easier program to get to grips with recording? I've heard reaper is quite user friendly but thought id ask for advice before getting a program that won't do what I need.

Ive been hooking the amp up from its USB port, and if it matters, it goes straight into my thinkpad laptop.

Thanks.

From the Fender Support website:

The Fender® Mustang™ and Fender® Bronco™ 40 are capable of recording audio into DAW (digital audio workstation) software applications such as Ableton Live Lite 8 Fender Edition (included with the Fender Mustang amps). In order to record sound in to your computer, you will need to have a playback device installed. The Fender Mustang and Bronco 40 amps provide audio recording only, and not playback. You can use your built in sound device or a third-party device for your playback. Please check with the manufacturer of that device for correct installation and set-up. In order to use the Fender Mustang amp with your Windows computer, you will need to install the Fender ASIO driver. You can download that driver here: [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.fender.c…"]Fender Support[/]="http://www.fender.c…"]Fender Support[/]. Once you have installed this driver, you can use the DAW software of your choice, and select the Fender Mustang or Fender Bronco 40 amp as the input or record device. You will then select your chosen playback device for playback.
