Hey there, I bought an Ampex MM 1100 a few years back, and the guy said it came with two racks of noise reduction. Actually what it came with were two 4-rackspace each Gregg Labs Tri-Band Amplifiers. As far as I can tell, these things are three band compressors for boosting/fattening FM signals before they hit the tower!.What I wantsta know is, has anyone used these for mix down, or overheads on drums or anything of that nature? My thinking is because they are 3 band compressors, I could use them to tailor two overheads while tracking drums, or I could run them as stereo bus compressors during mixdown. They appear to have discreet electronics- there's like 9 cards in each. Are they worthless, am I sitting on a goldmine, and what has anybody done with them? Thanks
