A mouse can't use 2 controls at a time. With these you can control 2 knobs with 2 hands at a time. Also, with the pads, u can play a drum beat using more than one finger. I see the advantages, I just need somebody else who's using it to tell me that! :-)

I have a Roland JP-8000 and love it. Use it to control Reason on some of the synths and it's so much fun. The 8000 has tons of knobs and faders on it that I can remap to control whatever I want. Sometimes being able to control the OSC, LFO and any other part of a soft synth plus playing notes at the same time yields great sounds!

It really depends on how you work and what you do as well...everyone has their own way of working so it's really up to you on whether or not you will benefit from it.

buy one at GC and if it works for you keep it- if not, you have 30 days to take it back! :D That's how I'd do it if i wasn't sure- 8)
