midi controller

MIDI controller setup

Hello All,

Could anyone advise if it's possible to set up a midi controller in this way.

I currently have a Alesis VI49 it has 12 knobs at the top which I have mapped, first set of 6 controls tracks 1-6 volume & and second set of 6 controls tracks one 1-6 pan.

What I'm after is a way of shifting banks set so I can map volume and pan for tracks 7 - 12 and so on.

I'm using reaper if it's something DAW specific. Any help would be much appreciated.

Go easy I'm new to midi

Best midi controller on this site (link in post)

Hello guys! Ever since last year I have been wanting to be a producer for hip hop, rap, house and dubstep (nice mix eh?). Now I have been using fl studio lately and it has been working great! The problem is I want to take this seriously and to the next level so I now need a midi controller. My budget is 450$ and below are two links of the two music stores I am purchasing the midi controller from. Now It has to have a keyboard ( 49 +) with it (no kidding) and a drum sampler on it would be helpful.

Adding tracks from midi controller in Cubase

Is there no easy way in mapping a controller in Cubase for a 1 button press for adding a single midi track to the project?

All i seem to find is Add Track and then it pops up with how many tracks i would like to add... i can duplicate but i would like to have it just add a midi track with the next channel... anyone knows what I'm talking about?

Maybe if i could find a way to map channels that would work, but i cant seem to find that either...

linking midi controller knobs/faders to Pro Tools?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post on, but..

Is there a way to link my knobs and faders on my midi keyboard to trigger faders and knobs in Pro Tools(8.0.4 LE to be specific)? For example. I want to either link a fader on my keyboard to trigger a track fader in Pro Tools and/or link the knobs on my keyboard to trigger certain parameters on plugins, for example on a delay triggering Feedback, mix, time, etc. This way i can ride and automate effects live in real time instead of having to painstakingly draw them in without a pencil tool.

midi controller for drums

I have been using a keybaord to control my BFD drums for about a year, and I find that it negatively affects my drum creativity due to the inconvenience to use and the more unnatural feel compared to real drums.

I think getting a midi controller that is set up like a drm pad will help solve this quite a bit. There's a bunch of kinds though, by Yamaha, Roland, and many others and I don't know what to look for or get. I just need a basic one that will do the job so i'm not looking to spend a lot on it.

Any ideas or suggestions?
