I've had Magix Music Studio Deluxe 2005 for about a week now (been researching software for a Rec Dept course in recording I'll be teaching).
Based on my short-term exposure to it, I can tell you the following about the MIDI studio:
1) The documentation isn't so hot. It's standard translated material, without a decent English-speaking copy and tech editor changing it into readable language. This was the same problem with Magix Audio Cleaning Lab (which I use regularly for vinyl->CD transfers), so you just read between the lines in the docs, or heck, rewrite the manual yourself.
2) If you've worked with Logic, the MIDI studio interface is just similar enough to be really, really annoying, without having identical key systems. I can change them, but am just too busy right now. They work.
3) Three of the audio instruments are identical to are identical to Logic's ES E, ES P and ES M synths (with half the number of patches...get the rest from a nice friend who has Logic, they're only 1K apiece or so), and the sampler is neat (I don't know how close it is to the Logic EXS24, but it seems stable enough). Let's face it, the engine was probably written by Emagic for Magix, thus making MIDI Studio Logic's bastard nephew.
Give me a week or so, I'll let you know what I think of the Audio studio.
