Sorry, I am not an professional expert but I would like to know if it's feasible to have the following setup :

= MicroKorg or other midi synth as midi out
= Midi controller ( Steinberg Midex 8 or MOTU Midi Express ) as midi in and midi out(s) to several synths racks
= Synth racks ( Motif 7 rack, Roland XS rack, others ) as midi in
= each rack output 1/4 TRS to mixer input

Do I need to connect USB with DAW for midi control/setup or I can play separately each rack or few of them at at the same time direct to mixer.
Of course midi control to DAW will be necessary for effects.

Any recommenadtion will be very well received. Thanks in advance.
