As close as I can get...

You're off the mark here.
The 003 can't mix anything down because the mixer doesn't have multiple outputs. What is that crap mixer even there for!?

This is like quantum physics. You're trying to go the route of a multitrack recorder AND a computer-DAW at the same time. It's only going to waste time.
I can think of a million better ways to do this with a totally different gear list.

But if you've inherited the pile of gear listed above, ...
Consider what you need to go OUT from and go IN to (gozinta'a gozouta), make sure that it seems reasonable. Can you trace a route from X to Y (say from the mic to the 003), through multiple devices (say through the VoicePro)? Then get the right cables to do it.

Can you explain why you feel you need to tie 3 independent multitrack recording set-ups together?

How did you come across all this equipment? If some saleman suggested you 'need' all of those things, what you really need is to shop someplace else.

The BR1600, MV8800, and 003 factory each have more than enough capability on their own.

Do you have the control surface for the 003 factory?
Do you have the ProTools software installed that came with the 003?
What drums & samples are you using?

I'll draw you a diagram when I get a chance, if you can clear some of those things up for me.

ok thank you dvdhawk
info:
I would like to use the pc for the last part-
ProTools 8 software and yes i have the control surface to mixes all tracks on the pc--003 factory-
-the BR1600 for Singing and working out parts.
- use the MV8800 to make drums & samples and i know i could use software for that to .
i know the BR1600,MV8800 are independent so i use the UB2442FX-PRO to tie them .
someone gave me the UB2442FX-PRO my old one was a Digital mixer so not used to this one at all and ther is unwanted sound on the mic ch
i have the destroyer pro for feedback not to sure how to use it for the best sound or no sound - mic i use is akg 200 for now.
no sure what is the best way to hook the voicepro to the mixer or to the BR1600 for Singing
mobile recording sometimes-
all equipment is new and i'm learning how to used so please take it easy on me i here for your help if you can.....

I still don't understand why you don't use one multi track system for all the recording. If you are discussing playback on both machines simultaneously you have no way to sync them up so that won't work. In fact, I'm not quite sure why you need a multitrack machine at all since you have the 003 w/surface. The circuitry on the 003 is quite superior to either of your other machines.

I still don't see why you need a mixer?

Computers can mix digitally - and if you're about to tell me you're using a Behringer for "analog summing" then I'll laugh so hard my vocal cords will hurt - so it's not like you need it for mixdown. If it's as a means to connect X to Y and Z then you can probably work around it.

You're recording ideas and beats to the BR1600, right? Since it's probably a little simpler than faffing around with a PC.
But then what? Do you take those ideas onto the PC and mix it on there? If that's the case, why do you need the 003? All you need is a pair of outputs, and a way to transfer the data from the BR1600 - preferably in a digital format i.e. copying onto CD/flash memory.

ok codemonkey your say no need for mixer
1.UB2442FX-PRO the mixer 16ch inputs all my equipment is plug in to the mixer
2.-8 ch inputs- control surface is for ProTools 8 software with pc this is why i have it the 003
3.yes the BR1600 is for recording ideas
4.i would like to be able to Plug it all in to ?
the mixer for is has 16 inputs
or something i have alot of equipment
and not sure if i should hook the voicepro to the 003 or the mixer

The trick with the VoicePro is that it if you record a signal that's been through it, you can't undo that later on if you decide it was too much or too little.
But if that's not a problem for you, then...

Your BR1600 has mic inputs, but no inserts. eek. That means you can either record the mic directly, and then play it back through the VoicePro, recording it again, OR you can find what is hopefully the sole use for your mixer... connect the mic to the input, come out of the Insert to the VoicePro, and out of the VoicePro straight to the BR1600 - not back to the mixer.
If it has no inserts, use the Aux send as you originally planned.

[ Behringer is poison, you want as little to do with it as possible. The build and sound quality are slammed as sub-par by 90% of people around here. ]

As for the BlueTube, the internet thinks it's a type of unbreakable bike tyre.
You could/would use it as a preamp (mic into that, ignore the mixer) and then out of the BlueTube to VP etc.

I know nothing about the MV8800 but I'd guess you want to plug that into 2 channels on the BR1600 and record there, or hope you have lots of hands to press several record and play buttons at once.

rstone, you are mashing up 2 different worlds; analog and digital.

In an analog world, we connect everything through a mixer, then added EQ and other processing before we recorded it on to a tape or disk. Usually a lot of wire and connectors here.

In a digital world, we connect everything to an audio interface and recorded it directly to a computer hard drive, then through software to add processing. Usually minimum wires and connectors.

With digital audio software you can mod your tracks as you see fit, then remove or use other plugins the change it at will. Recording engineers or hobbyists may add inserts of effects or processing before the signal goes to the hard drive, but that makes the final sound "etched in stone" with the processing they did as the signal went into the interface. Something an expert would only be good at doing. The only exception might be using a different preamp for your microphone (like the 2ch BlueTube you own).

Using a mixer before an audio interface usually means adding unnecessary noise and distortion to the final recording. If you have an audio interface (like the 003) that can handle 8 inputs, then you need to be flexible enough to switch out your instruments as you need them.

You didn't say if you used all 16 channels at once, but most bands only use about 8 at once (especially if there are no drums to record). If you use your other equipment to create tracks to then record on to PT, you are really making life hard for yourself. Remember you have the capacity to multitrack up to 48 stereo tracks with PT8 LE.

Learn the plugins that your factory bundle came with (including 2 drum sequencer/sampler plugins). If you need to use the other equipment to experiment and work things out, maybe you can export your tracks into ProTools as files. I don't know that other recording hardware you own.

But really, if you are serious, dump the other recording equipment and concentrate on learning to use the 003 and ProTools, ultimately it will be easier and sound better.

I'm not trying to bust your chops, but I still can't imagine why you'd pay good money for 3 different standalone recorders...

It's like buying a sportscar, a pickup truck, and a family sedan and wanting to rig them all together so you can drive all 3 to work at the same time.

I'd suggest you commit to using the Digi003 and learn how to use ProTools. ( I agree with JackAttack - it's the best of what you've got and capable of the most professional results ) Sell off some of the excess equipment and make sure you have good mics and monitors. There are also a number of devices out there that you can increase the 003 capability to 16 ins and outs via the ADAT lightpipe port. You can still use the Korg M3, TC, and the Bluetube as shown in the diagram. You can warm up your signals through the BlueTube, prior to recording if needed. You can add the TC in the mixdown, by routing it to one of the 8 outs and back into a different channel. You can mix everything you'll need in and out through ProTools and the 003 interface.

Seriously, here's an outline of what I'd do.

I know it's probably not what you want to hear, but after giving it some serious thought, that is really what I would do.

Best of luck !
