It's not really a bright idea.
Firstly the mix will sound like a Behringer Xenyx 802.
Secondly the M-Audio USB thing has one line in and a pre amp, so you'd have to put one signal through the pre. This is daft gain staging.
You could take the stereo tape out from your mixer, use a couple of Frankenstein connectors to get a stereo signal into the Fast Track, but then you would have to set the pre level to match the line level. I'm guessing, but I think this will give you a dodgy stereo signal...

Who really knows what's happening in that Fast Track thing?
Is the instrument input the same as the mic input just a different connector?

If both inputs are the same then get a cable with an RCA plug on one end and an XLR on the other. Another cable with an RCA on one end and a 1/4" TRS.

once again just to say i would like to use the Fast track usb as a sound card and run out of that into the Behringer Xenyx 802 and then out of that into the aux in and out stero amp.

but also would like to record back from the Behringer Xenyx 802 into the fast track usb obviously striaght into pro tools.

can u buy these wires or would i have to have them made up? "rca - XLR / XLR to 1/4"
would that be the best bet?.

Im glad i can use them together the way i explained, as for the manual i did research and try the net to see if i could find any explaination or manual as i do not own either pecies of hardware but simply needed reassurance before purchasing.

I agree with space, not too much going for this setup IMHO. For a little more $$$ you can get a solid interface with some more expandability.

The Fast Track USB should work in the way you want, and the combination of that and the Xeynx 802 may give marginally better results than a computer sound card.

However, you are compromised in not having a pair of identical inputs in the Fast Track USB. If you want to record two tracks at the same time, you are constrained to use the microphone input for one of them and the line input for the other. The maximum levels are low but different for both inputs.

At least there is a two-track (stereo) output available on RCA connectors that you can feed into your mixer or a domestic stereo amp for replay.
