For over aprox. 8 years I've used a Yamaha 4-track recorder (analog with audiotapes). I want to make a switch to a digital workstation. Who can give me some good advice on this? Is it helpfull to have a buildin CD-burner? Do I need a usb connection? etc.

And btw, if you're talking audiotapes as in .125inch at 1.875ips tapes, I cry for your troubles as you have not been exposed to the true quality of real analog recording. Those tapes don't even have enough width on the tracks to support the amplitudes of a decent signal and that slow of speed doesn't provide enough bandwidth.
