I am starting to do voice-overs and am having to deal with noise I never heard on vocals recorded with music. This is noise created by the mic and preamp. I am also hearing mouth sounds. All of this just gets worse when compressed.

I don't have a computer so I can only deal with this noise with the limited EQ I have at my disposal. I could go to a dynamic mic, but the only dynamics I have are Shure SM57's and 58's and they don't compare with my large diaphram condenser.

Also, I have a high-end tube mic that is great for vocals, but there is even more noise with this. So what should I do without having to spend money for that side address mic the radio stations all use (I forget the model).
