question about file types

i have been sent 2 sound designer 2 files for me to work on, i run nuendo which reads waves, how can i go about converting them so i can work on them. sorry if this is a no brainer.

ahhh so i am going to have to buy some soft ware for this. an other way? if not i guess 30 bucks isn't bad comparativley. also isn't that a windows based program or do they make a mac version also?
