Hi there, I've recently moved into a shared accomodation house, meaning I have housemates, meaning I can't sing and record loudly at night time - unless I go downstairs.
But i've just gone and brought a big clunky old PC! clearly it can't be moved around.

I was gonna sell it/swap it and get a decent laptop to record on (granting me mobility)
but a then friend said, probably correctly, that laptops were 'appalling' for recording, in comparison to PCs. - theres obviously a large power difference.

But ive just figured...I'm shortly about to get a decent external audio interface (possibly a Line6 UX2, or similar). Now seeing as that does all the horsework, resulting in minimal latency and so on. surely it wouldn't matter if I use a laptop or not.

Shall I just go ahead and sell my PC for a powerful laptop?
The only alternative I can think of is recording vocals separately, via a dictophone or something which I can take downstairs. But I want to record 'live' with me singing and playing.

any advice greatly appreciated.
