Hello everyone,
I am wondering what you think about running a drum machine through Sebatron vmp -2000e for recording. Have any of you used it for this purpose, and how did you like the results you've gotten.
Also, would you recommend it for post production. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to run a finished mix on my 16 track through the vmp -2000e before going into my hhb CD burner.
thank you,
evt

IMO, line source's can benefit from being run through the vmp's.
IMO, line source's can benefit from being run through the vmp's. That's not to be said that they would be made to be "better", but rather the sonic signature added by the tube stage can be very gratifying.
I use the vmp 4000e quite a lot in post work ... when auto tuning through a stand alone ATR-1 to keep the levels and impedances matched. It also works very well to bring old cassette tapes to life, adding a sense of "big-ness" to them.
I've gotten some great results with a drum machine and vmp mysel
I've gotten some great results with a drum machine and vmp myself. Also, the THORAX sounds awesome with my drum machines as well... I'm probably going to have to get another so I can have 2 channels of THORAX compression  !
