While no headphones will ever provide adequate monitoring for material destined for loudspeaker playback, I can tell you that these are a great pair of cans. They are comfortable, well built, and extremely well sealed. AKG K240 and Sony MDR7506 are nice and popular choices as well.

They are decent headphones, I'd give them a "B" on a letter grade scale. They are hyped in the high mids, isolation is pretty good too. They can get loud...which I've noticed the AKG's don't (unless they've changed the impedance in the last few years). I personally prefer the Beyer DT770 Pro for tracking, and the Sennheiser 600/650 if using headphones for mixdown.

I'd agree with atlasproaudio. Competant B grade headphones with a slight edgy plucky sound from ~2K upwards. Isolation is pretty good. In many ways, I quite like them though and the hyped top end with the isolation is very useful for reverb/decay/ambience monitoring.

I've owned the senns for about a year and the only good things about these is the isolation and comfort...its difficult to place mics on a guitar amp and rely on the sounds you're hearing from these headphones which always is frustratiing. I give them a B -

fifth... the 280s and k240/271 or mdr 7606/9 are good choices as well, all said alredy, thou... :D, but only for tracking / checking, NEVER ever use a pair of cans for monitoring / mixing!!! NEVER!
