Hi all.

I am trying to do some home recordings by plugging my equipment straight into my computer.

To get this to work properly, I have to do it in a very round about way.

I am running my guitar through a Boss ME-50 pedal with the guitar amp output lead plugged into my computer speakers secondary input. The first input is taken out of the audio input of the computer and plugged into the mic input.

I am using ACID PRO 6 to record.

My problem is at normal volume, the frequency's too high and the audio clips badly. The only way I have found to fix this, is turning the volume right down on the guitar, meaning I have to crank the speakers, but can still barely hear it. I am still forced to play softly. And when using distortion of effects, even with the lowest volume I can get it still peaks too high.

Is there anyway I could change the set up so it doesn't clip, or is it a hardware problem. I am only using the standard mic input the computer came with (my computer is boardering 10 years old :().

If you need the specs of the computer, how could I get a run down of them?
