Hi all, you know, maybe it's me or maybe my three kid's have finally succeeded in sucking the life out of me. Either way, I am going from a stand alone digital 8 track to a computer based system and migrating some of the equipment over. Now not so long ago I would have broken out all of the manuals, spent a week reading and figured this out all on my own, but why should I do that when I can pick all of your brains and save myself a bunch of time. Here's a list of equipment, and if anybody out there would like to send me some info on bringing this all together I really would appreciate it. (Items like the mixer I never used before and this will be the area where I'll need most of your help.)
Computer: P4 2.4 gig 512 mb rdram
Soundcard/interface: ST audio, C-Port DSP 2000 with rack interface.
Mixer: Behringer Eurorack UB1832FX-Pro
EQ: Alesis M-EQ 230 dual channel
Compressor: Alesis 3630 dual channel
Effects Processor: Alesis Midiverb 4
Vocal processor: DigiTech Midi Vocalist
Amp & Monitors: Alesis RA-100, Alesis Monitor One Monitors. (also a pair of Roland MA-8's)
DAT: Sony PCM-R300
Software: Cubase SL
Thanks much, tljmusic. :d:

With Cubase you shouldn’t need these pieces, 1. Alesis M-EQ 230
With Cubase you shouldn’t need these pieces,
1. Alesis M-EQ 230 dual channel. This is for PA work. Graphics aren't usually used in recording set ups except for room equalization (IMO a bad thing).
2. Alesis 3630 dual channel. No good, use the compressors in Cubase. .
3. Alesis Midiverb 4. Sameo
4. DigiTech Midi Vocalist. Sameo.
Now with all of that gone it should be a lot simpler. Fats
