The short answer is, no.

However, you can improvise by making your own GOBO and pick a spot in the room where the reflections are at a minimum, and block the rest wit the GOBO. Or, you can make your own vocal booth. But I prefer the room sound to a vocal booth... YMMV.

ya....i did that back in the day...you can put up random stuff to supress the reverberation in the room.

you basically want the sound to be "even on all frequencies" so dence thick materials like insulation works well
you could always use an se reflexion filter they cost £200

but at least u know that it's designed for the job and it's extremely portable

it's just that acoustics is a tricky subject especially when self building even to us engineers best investing in something "designed" by guys in white coats lol

What happens is, they diffuse some of the flutter and stop a few of the high frequency reflections. An untutored ear thinks it's OK, when that is far from the truth.

Are you talking about the wooden things or the foam padding?

While not ideal or perfect, you make a quick, cheap and portable vocal booth by making a tent with mic stands, packing blankets or sleeping bags.

As has been stated MANY times before on this forum, egg crates of ANY ilk are a fire hazard and should be avoided. The "tent" made of blankets on mic stands is a tried and true, and has been used for everything from kick drum, to guitar amp, to vocal "booth". Plus, you can pack the rig away in a closet before the kids make a fort out of it!
