Hi All. Another vocal problem I'm hoping someone can help me with.

Here's a snippet of a vocal track I just recorded. I can hear some artifacts and I don't know what it is. Some kind of crunchiness in the top end. I recorded 2 tracks simultaneously and I can hear it in both tracks. Two different mics, two totally different preamps but I can hear the same artifacts in both tracks. This one is a Shure SM7b through a Joemeek VC2 preamp into a Digi 003 Rack line-in. No needle pegging and peaks only hit about -8 or -6dbfs in Pro Tools.

The other track (same take) was a vintage U87 through a UA Solo 610 and a Urei LA-4. It of course sounds drastically different but I hear the exact same "crunchiness" on that one as well.
