Hi guys.

I'm new to this forum and I must say I find it quite good and useful.

I am just finished building my "real" studio. ( an upgrade from my previous "home studio" ) I run a PC Pro Tools setup with digi002R and Command 8 for my recording gear. I have just started recording some drums. I still wait for my OctoPre to arrive so right now I have only 4 mic preamps within the Digi 002R and for now I trying to get the kick and the snare sounding right. I have an audio sample and I was hoping for some feedback on that take. It's just a simple groove width hihat, kick and snare. Any sugestion on how I can improve this?

Thanks

Sounds great to me man. :D But then again what do I know?
Only way I see to improve it might be to use 2 mics on the kick drum. And a different pre amp on each of those 2 mic's.
Right now I an using an Audix D6 up close on the kick and a condensor mic about 3 feet away (2 or 3 feet off the floor).
I just got an API3124+ (four channel) and a two channel Great River. I really like the way the difference in pre amps changes the mic sound sooo dramatically.
Sometimes the Great River on the D6 and sometimes the API 3124+. And sometimes either pre on both mic's. Any combination works really nice.
Of course I am not telling you to use the same pre amp I choose. And maybe you are using 2 mic's already. I just was trying to give you a little feed back.
Rock on brother!
