Anyone ever used one of these? I'm wondering if there's a better multi pattern condenser in the price range? Also, Hello Music has a great deal on them right now... http://www.hellomus…"]hellomusic.com[/]="http://www.hellomus…"]hellomusic.com[/]

Yeah, well, that's not a link to that particular microphone. Besides, I guess they really don't want to sell any microphones because they want to force you to sign up & login. What? Just to look at some product's? The analogy would be having to pay a cover charge to go to your local grocery store.

I've never used any of those but have heard good things by other folks who have used them. Chinese is Chinese is Chinese, however.

And in what application do you expect to use these and why do you think you need multi-patterns? I mean, I have cardioid microphones, figure of 8 microphones, Omni directional microphones & multi-patterned microphones. I find the multi-pattern microphones particularly useful when setting up an identical pair for MS (middle/side) stereo microphone techniques Blumlien Figure of 8 stereo microphone techniques. So it just gives you a super versatile microphone when you also understand what those directional patterns can & can't do.

Of course you also understand you can get multi-patterned Condenser microphones in both large & small capsules. And that will have a lot to do with how well they work out for you knowing that SDC's provides much better sound from off axis sources than any large diaphragm condenser or LDC's.

Just proving all that glitters is not gold even if it is.
