Contract Console Tester (Mixing /Sound Engineer)

3 months (permanent opportunity available)

Contract Tester is required by our client, an industry recognised manufacturer of digital audio equipment for the live performance area based in Worcestershire, nr Birmingham, West Midlands.

This is a key role that will see you ensuring the suitability, reliability, quality and fitness for purpose of all software released and undertaking the testing of all software in conjunction with Service Dept and Software Dept to manage and track all reported software issues – writing appropriate test scripts and procedures when required. This will include:

· Analysis of testing requirements for all new software products and produce suitable software test plans, scripts and applications for such software;
· Liaising with the software development team and customers to record and inform interested parties of problems and issues found in software and beta software products during the above tests;
· Liaising with the software development team and customers to record, verify and inform interested parties of problems and issues found in software and beta software products outside of tests performed directly by the Software Test Department;
· Assessing the fitness of purpose, suitability and quality of software.

To be considered for this opportunity you will have knowledge of Audio in large-scale live concert environments – whether gained professionally or as a personal interest. Those with experience of digital consoles from the likes of Allen & Heath, Midas, Soundcraft, Digico, Yamaha etc are particularly welcome.

ISEB/ISTQB or equivalent qualification in software testing (Foundation or Practitioner certificate) would be advantageous but is not essential if you can demonstrate a strong aptitude for test;

Other advantageous skills:

· Analysis, writing of test specifications and automated software test scripts, including regression tests;
· Performing software testing procedures;
· Familiarity with both Linux./Unix and Windows environments;
· Familiarity with tools such as Rational Test Suite, Rational Robot, Test Manager, Visual Test and SQA Basic or similar would be an advantage;
· Knowledge of the Requirements Process and Use Case scenarios

Permanent opportunities will be based out of Manchester and not Worcestershire.
