Let's say I record someone's song for them. In my case it would just be a demo. I claI'm no rights to it whatsoever.

Does anybody know if there are pdfs of producer or artist management contracts on this forum?

Hey Guys! I recently started producing music for a couple artists and am wondering what the best way to go about getting contracts is.

Ok, I know some music is freely open to record and sell... Is Christmas music one of those? I do not plan on selling it anyway I was just wondering. Thanks guys and gals :D

Hey, as I mentioned in another post, I'm looking to branch out from local bands in my area and get drum up some internet business for my mastering work.

The people at this other record label have already agreed to release all claims to this material, but they still want something in writing so I drafted this. . .

So I was possibly (a BIG possibly) thinking about releasing a free mixtape prior to wanting to release a EP to get a little fanbase going before I release any music that actually costs money.

Now I keep reading posts about people who don't know what they're talking about and I'm seeing different answers so I figured I would ask on here:

I have a band, and I want to register the name so I own the rights. Everything is clear in terms of US Trademark registration, ASCAP.com and BMI.com, and bandname.com registrations. The name is not registered there.

But, 2 bands, aside from us, are using the name on myspace. They do not appear to be active, however. One is in California, the other in Germany.
