My new VMP 1000e VU just arrived. I haven't compared side by side, but it seems that the 1000e has the capability to be a bit more colored than my 2000e. 8-) Just for fun, I tried the 1000e in front of my Marshall stack and HOLY SMOKES! I now have a new weapon in my guitar arsenal!:twisted: Sebatron also gave me a good deal on a THORAX, I can't wait til it gets here! Thanks again, Sebatron , the contest was a lot of fun and the prize definitely worth more than the effort! :D

I did sound at a wedding last night (two gentlemen) - they had Bert and Ernie on top of the wedding cake :lol:
In any case, a woman they had singing did a great job on a blues-style tune - really cranked it up and belted it out - tastefully. I gave her one of my cards - she was very interested in recording. Would be good Sebatron material, no doubt - if I have a mic that would do her voice justice.

I'm curious to see what the Seb will do with my Oktava Ribbon.

Now, these are very early tests, just from me messing around last night recording my steel string guitar and mediocre voice, but so far, the NTK sounds wonderful through the the 2000e. It's maybe a bit much when you put the VMP into full saturation mode, but in the middle setting you can get fat, edgy, or fat and edgy tones for vocals and in transparent mode you gan still get a nice rounded tone without sounding overly burnt. With the pad on -30 (transparent mode), the 'air' switch engaged, and with the mic 12" off the 14th fret of my Alvarez Regent guitar in a very dead room, I was able to get a nice, balanced, and lightweight sound that's perfect for strumming. With the pad at -15 (classic mode), the deep switch engaged, the bright switch engaged, and with the mic 4" away, I was able to get a big ol' fat and edgy tone that added some weight to my voice which is lacking at the fundamental. That's one think I really like about the NTK.. totally useable proximity effect. ANyway, those are my early comments about the NTK with the 2000e. In the near future, I will be doing some proper testing at a big studio and will report back.

Thanks for your report David...guitar and voice are what I was looking for. Keep me updated...you know, any further surprises, etc., etc. I'm glad your happy with it...everything sounds great! 8-) :)

Well - it's here and it's warm. I've poked things into a few of its holes and listened a bit. I'm not a player myself, so most of what I did was just speaking. A lot smoother and warmer than my little Mackie mixer - I didn't drag out the A&H board - but it is only a little bit better than the mackie.

I had a woman in for a test track a little while back - ended up using an SM58 on her vocal - nothing sounded right. I think this little box would have made the difference.
