Hey everyone,

This is a post for all the techies out there:

I bought a PreSonus MP-20 and replaced the transformers with Jensens (the ones that originally came with the unit but that PreSonus took out in later models), but now it's pretty noisy. It's fine until the knob hits about 9 o'clock (only a quarter turn), then it just breaks up. I've read that this unit is known to be quiet, and I'm pretty sure that it was before the replacement, but I'm not sure (I replaced the transformers almost immediately after I got it).

What gives? Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks!

What kind of noise are you hearing? hum?, buzz?
Also, what are the transformers, 115K?, 110K? and are they PC mount or do they have wires?
If what you're hearing is hum and the transformers have leads then you could try rotating them to null out any magnetic field coupling.
It might also be a good idea to contact the manufacturer to see if they have any solutions for you. Good luck,
