Hey Gang,

I'm not sure if this will relate to full fledged studios using all CHs all the time,

Most of the gear I'll have will be at least two channels, for stereo or multiple tracking etc..

I'd venture to think that in most gear the CH1 area is probably used more often then Ch2, 3, or 4 etc if more then 1 unit.

So the question is,

other then the standard wear and tear on knobs, faders, inputs etc on a paticular peice of gear,,, will the overall circuits of THAT CH degrade faster with more usage ? or will just having the unit on thru normal use degrade both channels together ?/ hope this made sense ..

wasn't sure if using one channel constently would upset the balance of both channels eventually..

So i guess the leading question is does it make sense to alter the Channel usage to wear both sides evenly ?/

pros i guess to sharing channels is keeping pots cleaned by using them ?

appreciate any thoughts on the matter
