Hi all. I use DP 4.5 on a PowerMac G4. I use OSX.
I am running out of drive space and have some upcoming projects.
What is the best way to archive projects?
External Hard Drive?
Software that backs up incrementally to DVD?

I've found that Glyph drives are $$$$$.
What are my options? I love bang for the buck without sacrificing too much quality/reliability.

Thanks for your replies.

External HDD's are your best bet. DVD and CDR media are turning out to not be the long term storage solution we were all looking for. It turns out the photo-reactive dyes used in them are breaking down much sooner than expected.

HDD's are much faster and easier to use as well as more stable over the long haul so for long term storage I would choose a Hard drive. As a saftey measure you might want to also back up to DVD.

I wouldn't worry about backing up to DVD incrementally. I would suggest backing up incrementally to an HDD and then backing that up to DVD whenever you have enougn data to fill a DVD.

The simpliest solution for incremental backups to HDD are the Maxtor One Touch drives like this.

(Dead Link Removed)

They are USB 2.0 and some are 1394 also. To backup your data all you do is press the button on the drive. You do a full backup the first time and every time after that it's incremental. Couldn't be easier. When you have backed up enough data to fill a DVD you can burn one.
