Do I need a preamp for Omega Lexicon ?

I have a Maudio Delta 44 and when I try to plugin my bass directly into the soundcard, the signal is pretty weak. So I try it with a preamp and it works fine. Now I need to know that if I buy an an Omega Lexicon, will I still need a preamp for connecting my bass or can I sell my Delta 44 and the midiman AudioBuddy preamp ?

Also any disadvantages of switching to the Omega from the Delta ?

I have but can someone please explain to me the dbu and dbv stuff and resistance and all that stuff that I dont understand. Or at least give me a linkl to figure it out. I dont understand the numbers otherwisae I would have figured it out by myself.
