Okay heres the deal... i have $800 to spend, i'm running pro tools le 5.3.1 and i need quality, customizable drum samples and sounds with DEEP bass. Is there a synthesizer out there within this price range with these qualities? Right now all i have is a classic casio 530... i need to uprgade. If i have to work with the casio (due to financial limitations) that's fine, but i definitely need more than the pre programmed drum tracks it has. I was looking at an Alesis QS 6.1 figuring i could use the Q cards for the drum sounds i've been looking for, but with only 61 keys how low can that really go... ya know :) How about a drum machine/sampler? I haven't worked with one since '87... or maybe a sound module (i've never used one before would that work?) Maybe some software? Anyway... i'm kinda lost here and any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For synth drums I like Roland/Boss. You might be very happy with a Dr. Rhythm. They also have bass instrument sound.

I don't know what kind of music you are doing but, if you are trying to emulate the deep pumping bass sounds in house and trance, you'll find the a lot of additional EQ and compression will be needed..
