Currently, I'm using the Propellerhead Balance with my brother's headphones (Sennhiser HD 518, really nice). I've been thinking about getting some proper speakers for under $1500. I produce bass-heavy music, so smaller speakers are a no-no. Also, they need to support multiple voltage configurations (i.e. have a voltage selector)

Figure out a max budget you're comfortable with for a pair with good published spec sheets.
Then go listen to as many models in your price range you can. Swing a deal on your choice so you get a good deal.
Take a CD or MP3 of your favorite music you know well for the listening test. If the place won't let you spend time listening to their models, go somewhere else that will....don't even bother with a place that won't let you demo gear!
Buying speakers sight unseen based on stranger internet suggestions is crazy stupid and you will never be happy.
Would you really do that? You have no idea what other people think is good compared to what you may like.

Another good point is if you really want to spend $1500 on studio monitor's you better have good acoustical treatment in the room your going to use those in because without it, it will all be for not and an expensive lesson learned without it!
If you don't have the ability to test your room and treat your listening space correctly, you might as well buy computer speakers or regular hifi speakers and save yourself some money and disappointment...
