And Oscar Peterson is thinking "why am I here playin' for all these white folks who clap on the one and the three? LOL

I love Nat. Always have. A velvet voice and a great player as well. I think that might be Oscar Moore on guitar and Wesley Prince on bass.. what an incredible trio.

And Ray, Brother Ray....he's so soulful. He'd have still been a bad ass even if he hadn't been blind.

That is a classic quote, Donny. I have to ask this mystery of mine. I always stomp to 2 and 4 at those musical community gatherings lol. While the white folks are on 1 and 3 hehe! I wondered if I do that because I am odd or from a musicical drumming background?

The problem we are faced with today, the DAW has created a tool to put money into the hands of people who don't play an instrument. Sadly, this has effected the funding and need to pay musician. Gaming and special effects is fuelling it all and its not slowing down.

It's because you were born with the soul of a poor black child in the body of a middle class Canadian. LOL.

Most musicians - or should I say most musicians who are into music with a groove - from funk to swing - get the back-beat. It's what we gravitate towards, unlike every music major I ever met... or those that grew up listening to Mitch Miller and Lawrence Welk. ;)

Funny... Mitch looked like he should have been hip, with his longer hair and that beard - that was pretty uncommon for men in those days (early 60's).
But you can tell what his true nature is... absolutely ivory white, suburban and very "safe" ... LOL... just watch his hands ... as he's "directing" the music, his hands are moving in time to the 1 and 3 down, and not the 2/4 up.
