can someone help i need to record my voice onto backing track what is the first step thanks

One mistake that a lot of amateurs recording artists make is throwing all of the gear they own into their signal path when they start recording. In your case, you are just recording vox. A mic, micpre, a/d converter and multi-track digital recording format, should be all you need. All that other stuff is just unnecessary noise.

Now, I listed the components you need, but there are plenty of types and variations, as well as proaudio gear that incorporates multiple components. (E.g. if you decide to use Sonar as your recording format, you will use an audio interface for your computer which will probably contain both micpres and a/d converters)

I can't post a link to my website, because it always gets me into trouble on forums. If you can find the right section, it contains a step by stem method for independent recording artists who are just starting out. That is about all I can say on here. I hope you can get it worked out!
