I've heard a lot of different limiters used on the master (Manley being my favorite) but I'd like to know if anyone here is using that same limiter or compressor on let's say drum OH's. This does not by any means have to be a Manley, and under $2500 would be preferable.

-Thanks
Jeremy

Let's see - there are tons of great options.

In the downright cheap category theres:
FMR - RNC (and we'll see about the RNLA)
ART ProVLA (quite good despite price and reputation of parent company)

In the mid-price range:
Drawmer DL series stuff
Langevin (Manley's li'l solid-state brother)

In the upper -
DBX 162 SL
Manley
Vintage goodies
Weiss
Cranesong
Pendulum
and on and on and on...

i'm known to use manley vari-mu on EVERYTHING.....

(of course i use other comp's)

i actually mixed an album where i took every track and put it on 2-inch.... then compressed each individual track thru a vari-mu..... and tracked that back into protools.......

but when i got to the mastering part..... i just HAD to put a vari-mu on the master as well.....

i'm insane..... i know! 8) 8)
