I guess someone has to ask it...
How about a THOROUGH update on Mackie/SS? It's been a long time, and I'm sure a lot of us would like to know what's going on...

Hi Joel,
Obviously no one can comment at the moment. Is it possible to get some commitment as to when all these mysteries will be revealed. I've been a Soundscape user for years. I'd like to expand my SS setup but this whole silence thing is giving me serious reservations about proceeding with the sizeable investment involved. It feels like the company has headed for the bunkers. There is no mention of this and other burning issues such as EQ's (need for lo/hi shelf/cut)or third party plug-in questions (will anyone be developing plugs for SS while it's future is such an unknown quantity?). The last few months of silence is doing little for the confidence of current users like myself. Some indication of what's going on would be appropriate given the undying loyalty and very public support SS users have shown towards Soundscape over the years. Come on guys, time to fess up and let us know something.

Mike, and the members of this forum,
I understand your hesitation and the very valid concerns you have stated.
This is what I can assure you of.

Soundscape has been moving along unaffected, and will continue to do so, Soundscapes future is "Very" much there.

I am not a psychic so I can not give a "date" of resolution. although it looks to be sooner then most would believe.

New Soundscape driver update available for download now.
Supports WDM!
That's some sort of vital sign, isn't it? ;)

Antother sign is this contribution to Soundscape forum a few days ago:

Dr Boo

I got this in my mailbox less than a day ago!
I would not say that they are dead, I have been told that massive things are being done in the background:

Dear All,

I am writing to confirm that Soundscape will be exhibiting at both the
NAB and AES conventions. There is more good news following recent
developments and we hope to share this with you within the next 48hrs
followed by an official press statement.

At NAB our Booth number is E2818 in the E-Topia Section of The Sands.
AES details will follow.

best regards,
Nick Owen

Hang in there! :p

I'd prefer some kind of correspondence from Soundscape directly to their users. Not something posted to their usergroup by non-soundscape personnel. An email from Nick Owen to all registered users just asking to be patient would be a start. O.K. so they've updated a driver and are exhibiting at NAB. This is a positive(ish) sign but I think their attitute of non-communication to the people who pay their salaries is pathetic.
