We were pumpin' along fine here, and then...it's like somebody turned the lights on.

Is it just 'cause it's summer, and everyone's out getting some sun and fun?

Is Roland gear so easy to use that it doesn't need a forum?

Was it something I said? Do my feet stink?

Anywho, I hope everyone's enjoying their summer. The weather here in Illadelph is bloody brilliant. I have not been getting much work done with this weather. I've become quite the lazy ass, but my tan is coming along well.

What have y'all been up to?

Well, I have to admin a huge web portal to pay the bills. When I've had about all of websites, eCom, graphics, etc...I can take; upstairs I go to the VS-1880. Got the propriotary CD-RW out board unit and the SP-90 digital reference monitors -- waaaay too much fun!

Question: How does one erase the master tracks from a song?

They don't show up as track 17/18 in the track erase dialog.

That's odd! Hmm, I don't have the 1880, but...is there a "Master" dialog, which deals with creating a master, that has a "delete master" option? It seems to me that creating a master would be different from the machine's point of view from simply cutting a track, so deleting one would be on a separate page as well. Let me know, please, I'm curious now.

Curve,
Sorry I've been so quiet, but I haven't really had much time to mess with my machine since I bought it. I can't set up my drums in my apt. to play and I have no rehearsal space yet. I should have one next month though so I can start to set up my mini studio in there. Just got a Rode NT2 so I finally have a nice mic. My bro moved to town and he's an excellent bass and guitar player so I'm sure we will have questions for everyone and new music to share soon.
See ya later

Get a Korg Electribe•S. It's a sampler fused with a beatbox. $450US. Sample your drum hits, and sequence them into grooves that you would otherwise play. Record those grooves direct into the VS, and layer tracks from there. Make sure that you connect the MIDI clock "out" from the VS to the E-Tribe "in", and set the E-Tribe's clock to "external," and record those beats synced to the MIDI clock on the VS, so that you can go back and tweak your beat science as the arrangement progresses.

Hope this helps; don't hesitate to ask for further clarification.

Curve et'anyone else,

I imported all the keeper tracks to a new song (name), and axed the old one. I'll check the mastering dialog more thoroughly later today.

BTW, are there any "(esoteric) sweet spots" (hmm maybe I just named my new on-line group:-) for: accoustic guitar, bass guitar and lead vocals, in the VS eq section?
