Fletcher Munson mic curve?
Forums
I've heard that I can set the Fletcher-Munson curve for my RODE Nt1 microphone to compensate some frequencies (harshness, hi's)..
Is it true and does someone know more about this?
I've heard that those curves and settings exist for all marks of mic's..
FUNKY

From where can I get a couple of AKG C451 Microphone pre
Forums
Hi all!
I am looking for an AKG C-451EB microphone "body", ie the preamplifier
part of the microphone, and that without the capsules. AFAIK they are
out of production, so where could one obtain such a thing?

David, Matched Pairs of Mics, What and Why?
Forums
All,
Perhaps this is a stupid question, but I'm new at this. Why is it better to have a "matched pair" of the rather than two that are not matched (of the same model, of course)? How do manufacturers select "matched pairs"? How hard is it to do after the fact (buy one then later try to match it)?
Thanks,
Dennis

BLUE mics
Forums
Greetings,
I operate a facility based on a Roland VS studio and plan on updating to a PARIS by this time next year. This fall, I will update my front-end.
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the BLUE Kiwi and Cactus mics. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thank you,
Big T. Smith

Neumann M269 vs. U67
Forums
Anybody out compared the M269 and U67. From what I understand the tubes a bit brighter and the M269 has a little less distortion. My application would be primarily female vocals with sparse arrangements in a ballad context (brazillian and ambient music). I'm sure they vary from mic but I'd love to hear any user feedback on these. The elam is way out of my ballpark. thanks.

El Cheapo tube mics
Forums
Mr. Gerst, as the self-avowed lord of the bottom-feeders, I was wondering if you've had any opportunity to investigate the current crop of cheap import tube mics like the Nady 1100, 1050 and the MXL V77 and V69(?). Maybe Studio Projects sells one as well, I don't recall.

Shure, 330 Ribbon Mic... any good uses?
Forums
I purchased it among other things at a studio sale years ago and forgot about having it. I've never heard anyone talk about using one so I'm guessing its probably junk?
Anyone got any suggestions.

Vintage KM84 mics
Forums
I've been (unsuccessfully) looking for a matched pair of vintage KM84 mics, which no one seems to have.
Considering how many of these have been sold I wouldn't think it difficult at all to find a pair somewhere, but so far - nothing! I see loads of U87's, 67's etc - all the large diaphragm stuff, but no 84's.
