I'm making the last tweeks to my new home studio and have come across a problem.

For rehearsal and playback of drum machine and recorder, I run 1st through a small 4 channel mixer and then into an amp driving a pair of studio monitors and headphones.

I am a drummer who does his own recording. I have The DR-DRM7 7-Piece Drum Mic Kit, a ProFX12 Mixer, and Adobe Audition on my PC Laptop.

The ProFX12 Mixer has a USB output that I use to record, and the quality is pretty good.

Theres a company (Black Lion Audio) that mods the digi002 racks with higher quality pres and converters as well as other components. Was wondering if anybody here has dealt with them or heard good things about them?

I was wondering. Is there any kind of freeware that will help me edit drums? Heres what I'm doing.(I use drumagog so that i can cut beats and not notice it) I have recorded drums for a new album. The drums are pretty well on time. But, theres places it gets of here and there.

I currently have a Radial JDI. It sounds good. I'm fairly happy with it as am I with the DI on my Portico 5016. As quantative needs are increasing, I'm in the market for another one or two DIs. I have been reading opinions that Active DIs (in general) are better for guitars and basses. Is this true?

Whatever mic I do go with, it will be going straight into a Steinberg MR816x to pt9 for awhile. (sold a Mackie onyx1220i and got this, and the mic preamp's have a noticeably better overall sound).

I need it for Mac, don't my paying but free is also good, generally using it to touch up flat sounding recordings, something nice & simple would be great.
