I just had a very interesting experience that many might find informative, or at least amusing. I recently received a mailing from a mail order superstore that I have hardly ever done business with. I buy almost everything significant from local pro audio dealers because i get better prices and much better service.

I emailed the below letter to Andy Maddock at Sonar customer support on May 5th. It was resent a week later. To date, there has been no response. I thought there was a user forum at news.cakewalk.com, but I didn't see one. Maybe somone here can help.

I was doing some reference listening through some recent CD purchases the other night. I was shocked at how much distortion is on vocals and acoustic instruments on some CD's. Some specific examples:

I'm a current user of Sonar (moving to 2.0) and I'm looking to buy a sound card module to use with it. I'm currently looking at MOTU 2408mkII with 8/8 analog I/O and ADAT, SPDIF etc digitial I/O.

Does anyone recommend this or other hardware?

Cakewalk Sonar 2 won't load or save my effects presets. anyone else have this problem? any solutions out there?

Hey, I got a problem ya see. If I use logic audio, and try to go to another program(wmp,Sonar,acid, whatever) I get an error saying the program couldn't open the audio device. I have to restart the machine.

Hi! I'd like to get some pointers on the most efficient way to de-ess a vocal track. I have at my disposal the stock MOTU plugs (I'm using DP 2.72) and Waves Native Power Pack. Thanks very much in advance for any assisstance you can give!
