Whats going on? I know I'm new to the forum and all, but I've been in the game for so long, man, I'm kinda getting fed up with everyone telling me to get a real job. Whats a real job anyway man? I'd rather mess around with my new M box then freaking flip burgers over a flame, you know what I'm saying? Man! I just want to be heard, you know!

Is anyone out there using the Logic control surface? I'd like to get one, but I am not sure if it is supported by any other applications other than Logic audio. Currently, I'm using Sonar and I certainly wouldn't want an expensive control surface that only works on one program.

Have any of you ever had a problem loading the MAS plugins that come with DP3?

I just purchased DP3 and can find the plugin files in the system folder/extension folder/motu/ plugins but they do not show up in the DP3 program?

As a mixing assignment I'm presented with tracks recorded with a so-so 16 bit interface. They're not terrible, but of course they leave something to be desired.

What I'm asking is would it be benficial for me to convert them (internally via software) to 24 bit files, or perhaps just the stereo mix as a 24 bit file, before they ultimately get dithered back to 16?

OK, now that the year is about half over...how's it going out there?

Universal Audio has just released their latest upgrade to their Powered pluginsthat run on the UAD-1 DSP card, version 2.2. This version includes the long awaited Pultec EQ! (Yeah!)

I haven't tried it, I just downloaded it...I'll let you know how it goes (and sounds!).

Hey, let's say I am playing my guitar into Sonar, just freely. If I want to figure out what tempo I am playing at, Sonar helps me figure that out. However the ruler at the top of the window doesn't match up with the beats and measures I am playing. So I need to quantize right? Is it possible to quantize audio in Sonar?

I've been using Westlake BBSM10's for a few years and have been really happy with them; they are the first monitor I've used where I find the mixes are totally translatable every time.

When tube amps and diaphram mics were invented do you think the studio engineers spent a lot of time trying to make everything sound like funnels and wax cylinders? How long did it take before they started taking advantage of their new tools?
