I've played classical music on the accordion for 13 years, and have tried both built-in and external condenser/cardioid microphones live. I've never been at all satisfied with the amplified sound in concerts, it seems live technicians don't know how to deal with the instrument...

Hello i have a folk band that i am recording which has an accordion in it and i am not sure on how to properly get the sound reproducion of that instrument. i was sugested to use a omni mic placed about 3-5feet away but i was wondering what else i could do.

Hey, i write music consisting of Epic orchestrations, Celtic (Being Scottish) folk melodies, Technical Melodic Metal at high tempos... However, i like adding accordions into my music for background vamping and such as a method of building unqiue and interesting texture to my tracks.
