Whats the difference between a AT 4050 and a AT 4050/cm5---?anybody?

I already have the 4050 but am looking at getting the other 2, they are the edge of my prioce range 3K so icannot go any higher.

however i only really need 2 inputs (stereo from my triton) to go into my MAC/cubase

these were recommended to me from my sweetwater rep

Has anyone tried the Audio-Technica AT4060? How much better than the 4050 is it? Is it worth the extra money?

Looking for a new mic purchase primarily for vocal use. At the moment I'm stuck with a RODE NT1 and a CAD M179. They're ok but I'm ready to take the next step up. My current preamp is a Joemeek VCQ1, Mackie XDR, and i've just ordered the RNP & RNC combo.

Is the AT4050 a Japanese copy of the Neumann?

They seem very similar in many ways. I'm curious about the coloration between the two. I own an AT4040.

The intent is putting a multi-pattern mic on my wish list.

This is my first venture into recording. It is for fun, not profit. I did not want to buy specialized equipment like shot gun mics for people talking and then condenser mics for people singing.

If you could only have one for Vocals, which one would you choose?

I'm looking for a couple of flexible vocal and acoustic guitar mics and am considering the Shure KSM44, Audio-Technica AT4050, Studio Projects C3 and Studio Projects B3. Can anyone offer any insight or observations with respect to any of those in vocal and acoustic guitar applications?
