The 4040 and 4033 have on one pattern (cardioid) so is either one the single capsule version of the 4050?

If you had to choose between the 4033 and 4040 which one would you choose and why?

Just interested as to what people thought was the better mic between the RODE NT2A and the AudioTech. AT4040 - for recording vocals (and acoustic instruments)?

I have looked at some prices, and in Australia the 4040 seems to be more expensive then the NT2A, but in the US the 4040 seems to be cheaper?

Is there something I'm missing here?

I have a Country/Gospel gig coming in that I can use as a reason to get a mic or two. They have two female singers and one male. I have not worked with the girls before but have not had really good luck with my existing mics with female singers.

I found 6 of them each for 199$ in ebay,would you trust them,are they reliable?

I have a few HM1's. I was going to get a Studio Projects C3 & pair of C4 as a brighter compliment to the more neutral HM1. I really like the HM1 sound, but it is a bit...um whats the word...unsuitable is PC, on some vox and instruments...

I was advised by quite a few of you to purchase one of these two mics to replace my Oktava MK319 as a vocal mic.

Since the microphone will be my "go to" for both male and female vocals for a while. which would be a better purchase and why?

I'm unfamiliar with both so your input would be great!

I was checking out the specs on these and noticed that the 3035 seemed to be much flatter overall and specifically in the 1-5k range that seems pretty important for most brass instruments. Anyone have experience with these mics on horns?
