I'm all for Micing up a real amplifier, and have put in my fair amount of time experimenting with stereo Micing and double tracking to get big stereo guitars. I used some amp sims to add to existing "real" guitars, but passed most of them off as not quite able to stand on their own.

Ok, I just got a Pro Tools Digi 002 and I'm trying to hook up a 2nd internal hard drive for it (Hitachi 120 gig) on my Power Mac dual G4 desktop. I screwed it into the bay above my main hard drive, connected the two cables (the attachments that were on the cables already hooking up the main drive) and closed it up.

I'm looking into replacing my current DDA-console in my production studio. I need something compact since space is an issue but I don't want to compromise in sound, at all. I also do more and more final mixes in my studio (although it's mainly for production) so I'd like to bring up the quality as high as possible.

Just thought I'd share this if anyone was considering to buy a Pro Tools HD system. They are offering a trade in until the end of March that gives you an HD1 system for $2499 when you trade in your Mix core card.

If you don't have a mix core card, do what I did. Buy one off of ebay, make sure you can get ownership transfer, then make sure it's not a refurb, then do the upgrade.

i'm thinking of getting the Apogeebig ben. any of you have any thoughts on this or have one?
