Hey ya'll I'm considering a pair of monitors mainly for messing around- writing, trying out my considerable collection of new plugs and vsti. I will probably get another set when i setup a studio room at this place and get my main system set-up. The only one's ive heard is the yammy's which I'm leaning towards.

My question is just that, I'm interested in everyone's opinion on the best budget monitors and/or headphones for mixing. Think $100-$200 for either a set of 2 monitors or a pair of headphones which still pick up nuances you'd need to be able to pick up on for mixing.

Friend of mine needs a pair of monitors on the very cheap. In the 100-150 range. I'm just not sure what's good in that price range. He plays acoustic stuff mostly. Acoustic and vocals with occasional bass guitar.

I've heard some M-Audio monitors around this price range are pretty useable, but I'd appreciate some recommendations as well.

Yo guys I'm looking to get some monitors to mix, I definetly want 8s, no bigger or smaller really. But I was wondering whats the best bang for my buck, I'm trying to stay under $500, maybe a litter higher, but thats my limit, any suggestions?
