A cappella
A cappella [a kkapˈpɛlla] (Italian for "in the manner of the chapel") music is specifically group or solo singing without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. It contrasts with cantata, which is accompanied singing. The term "a cappella" was originally intended to differentiate between Renaissance polyphony and Baroque concertato style.

Monitor Mixes for a cappella groups
I sing with a group of 8. Monitors have always been an issue for us. We're about to switch to in-ear in the next few weeks. In talking about in-ear monitors, the issue has been brought up of giving different singers/parts separate monitor mixes. Since vocals are completely dynamic, I'm not sure how we can ever blend if we're not hearing what the house is hearing.

A quick way for a cappella choir recording?
I have been asked to make concert recordings af a quite good choir (a cappela, about 24 singers) where I am one of the singers myself. I have no experience in that regard but are the 'technical guy' in the choir and do also the concert light. Now I do not worry so much about the gear necessary, also because that expense will be covered by the choir anyway.

Evaluating A Cappella Mix (Plugin, Eq, Pan, layering)
HI
I am willing to share the production behind this bonus track from my recent album, "Deusa De MArfim".
No autotune and similar tools were used, all vocals performed by the same person.
Just layering of several tracks, going from 6 to 18 tracks., EQing and panning trajectories.
You may listen to it on here: "A.C à Capella"
Full circle around a Blumlein Pair - a capella
Had a fun recording on Sunday. A vocal group at a college about 90 minutes away hired me to record them for an archival CD for the members. 17 singers - I had them stand in a circle around a Blumlein pair (SPC3) with Oktava MK319s for lead vocal and beatbox. No beatbox on this piece, but ended up with some fun stereo placement quite by accident.
a cappella group
I have a friend who is in a college a cappella group who tried to do some recording themselves but they ended up out of tune and out of time. The two biggest no no's in tracking? Anywho I was wondering if there were any tips for getting a good A Cappella sound. Other than make sure they are in tune and in time. Some questions

Pitch shifter for a capella choir
Anyone found a miracle tool for pitch shifting a capella choirs recorded in rich acoustics? We have tried the Eventide Orville and the Prosoniq MPEX3 for Pyramix, but they all make heavy artefacts on harmonically complex material.
