Ultra Mega SuperCardioid Mic?

I'm working on stuff that where I'm shooting "live" performances of just piano, vocals, mic. I use the ADP piano mics. Thing is, I'm about to receive a fantastic Steinway C&A Model D with the sound of 10 Ferraris. I'm trying to figure out a good vocal mic that will not pick up a lot of the piano. I've been singing real close into an AKG 214 but that's not going to cut it.

Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone Help ?

I'm in the market for two nice condenser microphones and will be recording voice recording onto portable recorders like Zoom H4N.

Build quality and sound is a must, Will be using XLR inputs.

Can anyone please give me some input on what you think is best brands and models ?

My price range is 100 $ to 300 $ each mic.

Thanks for any help you can give me !

Where else can I test my Cardiod Condenser Microphone?

I had a Studio Projects C1 Condenser Mic in storage for about 11 months.

Since I was not using I decided to sell it to a friend. My friend has an mbox-2 pro interface and has been using a Shure Dynamic mic for his recordings.

After plugging in my C1, we got no signal coming in. When then noticed that we forgot to press in the 48 Phantom power button. Once again no signal.

Hypercardioid

A type of microphone pick-up pattern. Similar in shape to a cardioid pattern, except that the sides have the greatest amount of rejection, as opposed to a cardioid pattern where the rear of the microphone has the least sensitivity.
