Description

CD-RW is a digital optical disc storage format introduced in 1997. A CD-RW compact disc can be written, read, erased, and re-written. CD-RWs, as opposed to CDs, require specialized readers that have sensitive laser optics. Consequently, CD-RWs cannot be read in many CD readers built prior to the introduction of CD-RW.

Tascam CD-RW 700 or upgrade?

I've searched the Forum and can't find anything about this specific topic...there might be info I missed about the follow-up questions. Sorry if this is a double post.

We have an old (relatively) Tascam CD-RW 700 we've used in the past as a mixdown deck. We really like it. However...Tascam has put out a few newer models since we bought the 700.

The main question is:

Hello, I'm trying to use my CD-RW's for my songs so that I can listen to them on other systems but when I try to record the songs to the already used CD-RW which was used for movies in the past it constantly tells to that it needs to be erased. I erase it and try to record again then asks again to erase.

It is because I used it for movies and now I can only use it for movies?

Hi, first of all, sorry if this question's been answered before, but i tryed the search Engine and couldn't find anything related to my "newbie" question :D
i'm new to all of this Recording thing, i'm a Singer guitarist, and i'll be taking some classes in audio Production this summer because next year i'll be starting a Master Degree in Audio Production at Barcelona.

Quality of CD-RW's.

Is there a difference in quality when using a silver CD as opposed to different colored ones when burning music from pro tools? With the colored or dyed ones they don't seem to play on certain players especially the car CD. I want to find the best that's out there. Thanks for listening. You guys always seem to know the answer. :?:
