I'm a sound engineering student in Piteå, northern Sweden. We've recently (last year) built a new concert hall with adjustable inner ceiling; from 1 to 2,4s RT60. This is very nice... And I love making recordings in this all-wood space.

We got 4 pair of Proficient C620 6.5 Inch Ceiling Speakers (total of 8 speakers) for a very large room.

In order to save some space in my vocal booth I want to hang my vocal mics (RODE K2 and AKG C414) from the ceiling instead of using a floor stand.
I can't find anything on the net suitable for the very nice, but very heavy RODE K2.
Of course that I want to be able to rise or lower of the mic according to the length of the singer. :P

I have treated my room a la fiberglass cloud on ceiling, and left the floor live. I like a bit of liveliness since I mostly record acoustic guitar in ORTF with some omni's. I took Ethan's advice from his faq on this and decided I'd try it with the cheaper rigid fiberglass bass traps on the ceiling with coverage at about 80%.

I am in the process of builiding a new studio. I have the option to go to up to 9 1/2 foot ceilings. The room is not that large (23 X 12) and I'm thinking 8 foot ceilings would create a more controllable space. I mostly record acoustic bluegrass, folk, etc. but also have a drum kit and do the occasional rock and roll band.

Any opinions?
