So glad I found this forum, will hopefully help with my future recordings! :)

In a few weeks I have to do a seminar on some classical styles of recording i.e blumlein par, ORTF etc. And I have been goign through my small jazz collection to see if any of them were produced with this microphone placement.

Another one out for sale. A decent price (half new). Are they useable and then for what?

I stumbled over a pair of B&K 4007, what later became DPA 4007 if understand it right. They were at a very nice price and I had to make a quick decision. On second thought, are they of any use for classical recording?

Hello, anyone have experienced the new Edirol R4 in classical recordings ? Is it usable without or perhaps with stand alone mic preamps ?

Obviously a very silly question! I know that this forum is heavily loaded with Sequoia users who are not shy about professing their high regard for that system.

That said, I wonder if we might have a compare/ contrast of different applications? I'm kinda hoping against hope that this thread does not just turn into a Sequoia lovefest. Rather, can we compare the others too?

I've got some projects of classical recordings. One of them is a recording of an small orchestra with 2 or 3 vocal soloists. Another project is of recording a pipe organ in a cathedral.

I've recorded previously some pipe organs and few string quartets, but now I'm looking for a good pair of mics.
