HELP! Recording Control Surface(s)
I'm thinking of buying the M-Audio Project Mix. It's basically the same thing as the digi002 without 4 extra outputs. Has anyone used this or owns it? What do you think?

Mackie d8b as control surface
I am looking for opinions on whether to buy a used Mackie d8b as a desk for my studio. My studio now is based around Cubase SX, 32ch of Tascam DA-78, MOTU 24i,and 2408 mkIII's and a Mackie 8bus 48 channel (24 +24E). I typically use outboard preamps into Cubase via the MOTU Interfaces and don't use the DA's much any more.

A/D / control surface options
I'm looking for a reasonably priced, yet quality A/D / control surface. It'd be for a broad range of use from studio recording to theater sound design to video sound editing. I'm liking the US-428, is that decent? Would i need outboard pres? Also, is it worth the money for moving faders? Thanks.

advice on A/Ds / control surfaces.
I'm looking at reasonably priced control surfaces/ A/Ds. I'm liking the US-428, mostly for price. Is it gunna crap out on me or sound bad? is it decent enough? I need something for a broad range of work. Everything from video to theater sound design to studio recording. Worth the money? Also, how worth it would it be to splurge on moving faders, or is that overboard?

Control Surfaces and Classical Music
Up until very recently, I was addicted to the control surface. Any automation was done via 9 smooth faders and FX automation with the twist of a knob.

why use a control surface?
Why use a control surface when you can use the controls inside the rec software? is there anything different?
May be it's a stupid question!

Control Surface for CEP2.0 / AUDITION?
I'd like to get a control surface mainly for the use of physical sliders. Does Cool Edit Pro 2.0, or Adobe Audition support anything? I'm looking into the Tascam US428. Any ideas/input?

control surface/ preamp question
hello,
Im looking for a way to record. Im stuck between getting a Roland VS -200CD and computer recording.
When on the computer you'll have your mics in to the preamp to the sound card. Now, do you have to have your signal going through the control surface (ex. Mackie control 8)
