Why are all of the Ozone 6 presets so aimed towards fixing eq and imaging and not at all geared towards getting decent Compression and or volume. Of course you gotta add a little air or shine to a finished mix but most of the work should be done in compression and limiting.

Am I sarcastic or for real? Well, I'm definitely really bent out of shape and wondering where all you Mastering Engineers are headed after the last post about how you all think gear doesn't matter.

A lot of discussion over Pro Tools going Native and even HD Native. Is there something in the works? Obviously. How close is it? Well it exists already.

My question? Why the baby steps? This is old news over at the DUC but I thought, I'd bring it on over for discussion if anyone is interested.

I've been reading more and more about the coming demise of the CD. And honestly, it scares the hell out of me. If digital downloads is what it is coming to, fine, I think it's great, but do they have to be MP3s? They sound awful! Why isn't there a way to download full size 16 bit, 44.1 wav files? Does it really take that much longer to download? And isn't it worth it to take the time?

I asked a friend to describe Melodyne a new stand-alone audio manipulation software... He has a demo at home and saw it being demontrated at the Musik Messe in Frankfurt last weekend... Chris is from Belgium and has perfect English (of course!)
